Lights. Camera. Murder? Wildwood Cove’s star turn is soured by a sneaky killer in this delicious cozy mystery from the USA Today bestselling author of The Crêpes of Wrath.
Bonus content: includes original recipes inspired by the Flip Side Pancake House menu!
With a Hollywood film crew in town to shoot a remake of the horror classic The Perishing, the residents of Wildwood Cove are all abuzz. Even Marley McKinney, owner of The Flip Side Pancake House, can overlook the fact that the lead actress, Alyssa Jayde, happens to be an old flame of her boyfriend. After all, the crew loves Marley’s crêpes—so much so that Christine, the head makeup artist, invites her onset for a behind-the-scenes tour. But when Marley arrives, the special-effects trailer is on fire . . . with Christine inside.
The cops quickly rule Christine’s death a murder, and Alyssa a suspect. Marley’s boyfriend insists that the actress is innocent, but when Marley sticks her nose into the complicated lives of The Perishing’s cast and crew, she discovers more questions than answers. It seems that everyone has a hidden agenda—and a plausible motive. And as the horror spills over from the silver screen, Marley gets a funny feeling that she may be the killer’s next victim.
5 out of 5 stars
Sarah Fox is a new author to me and I am so glad I decided to take a chance and read this book. It was amazing! I loved the characters and the mystery had me grabbed from the beginning. I thought I had figured out who the killer was, but I was wrong. It was a complete surprise to me when the killer was revealed.
I really love the setting of the pancake house and all of the foods that were described sounded absolutely delicious! I pretty much stayed hungry while reading this book! 😉
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Flip Side pancake house is at the heart of my Pancake House Mysteries. It’s owned and operated by the main character, Marley McKinney, who solves mysteries while pouring coffee and serving up platters of delicious breakfast foods.
The Flip Side’s chef, Ivan, works magic in the kitchen, and there are all kinds of delicious smells to inhale at the pancake house. To enjoy some of those heavenly scents at home, I’ve come up with five candles that capture fragrances reminiscent of The Flip Side.
This candle blends two of The Flip Side’s trademark aromas—frying bacon and maple syrup.
Sticky Licky Buns
Ivan’s maple pecan sticky rolls are one of the most popular items on The Flip Side’s menu. Beware, though, as this candle might make your mouth water!
Strong Cup of Coffee
There’s always fresh, hot coffee available at The Flip Side. This candle brings to life the rich, bold sent of a cup of joe.
The Flip Side pancake house is located on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. It’s right on the beach and offers gorgeous views of the water. This ocean breeze candle evokes the beachfront feel of the pancake house with the smell of salty sea air.
I chose this scent specifically for Of Spice and Men, the third Pancake House Mystery, as it takes place in the fall when the leaves are changing color and Marley is decorating the pancake house with pumpkins. This candle captures the essence of the season, blending a hint of spice and apple with the scents of cedar wood, pine, and moss.
