Top 5 Wednesday – Rewind

top5wednesday

Today I am participating in Top 5 Wednesday and will be showing you my Favorite Romances.

This is going to be really hard to do. Romance is one of my most loved genres and is also one of the two genres that I read the most of. Narrowing it down to 5 that I love the most is going to kill me! lol

With that being said though, the following books had me so invested in the couple’s story that I wasn’t able to put the book down and now, even having read these books so long ago, I still find myself thinking about the couples and their story.

Here they are in no particular order. (Hey, narrowing it down was hard enough! Don’t make me order them too! lol)

1. Slammed by Colleen Hoover
30333938
Synopsis: Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she’s losing hope.

Enter Will Cooper: The attractive, 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry and a unique sense of humor. Within days of their introduction, Will and Layken form an intense emotional connection, leaving Layken with a renewed sense of hope.

Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart.

My comments: I love Will and Lake so much. They will forever be one of my top OTP’s. <3

2. #Nerd by Cambria Hebert
23493256
Synopsis: Two people from completely different worlds are about to be thrown together…

In more ways than one.

She wants to keep her scholarship. He wants to stay on the team. An awkward alliance doesn’t even begin to cover Rimmel and Romeo’s relationship.

But that’s about to change.

It starts with a dare. An initiation. A challenge.

Quickly, it turns into more. But when you’re a victim of your status, there is no room for anything real. The rules are clear and simple.

Stick to your circle.

And never fall in love with anyone on the outside.

My comments: Romeo and Rimmel are another top OTP for me and will forever be at the top of my list of favorite couples. The two of them are just #goals. They are undeniably perfect for each other.

3. Edge of Chaos by Molly E Lee
29056272
Synopsis: Blake Caster has been in an emotionally abusive relationship with Justin for so long, she can’t tell what is normal anymore, and so she clings to the one thing that is solidly hers—her passion for extreme weather.

Three years into her Meteorology degree, Blake meets professional storm chaser, Dash Lexington, who is as gorgeous as he is daring. Instantly recognizing her passion and skills in analyzing weather data, he makes a spot for her on his tight-knit storm chasing team. Dash and Blake form a fast friendship and it forces her to realize just how toxic her relationship with Justin is. She can’t deny the lightning-worthy chemistry she has with Dash or how her heart stalls every time he gets too close to a tornado.

With each chase and the cherished moments with Dash, Blake discovers her own self-worth and gains the strength to end things with Justin for good. But he won’t go easily. As Blake tries to sever ties with one man, she fears she’ll lose the other to his dangerous obsession—and she doesn’t know if she’ll be enough to save him from the impending storm that could end them all.

My comments: Oh, Dash and Blake…I love them so much. Their journey to their happy ending wasn’t easy by any means, but it was so worth it. I love their story and this is another top OTP couple that is just perfect for each other.

4. Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros
20625686
Synopsis: Three knocks can change everything…

“She knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead.”

Twenty years as an army brat and Ember Howard knew, too. The soldiers at the door meant her dad was never coming home. What she didn’t know was how she would find the strength to singlehandedly care for her crumbling family when her mom falls apart.

Then Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her over and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.

Until Josh’s secret shatters their world. And Ember must decide if he’s worth the risk that comes with loving a man who could strip her bare.

My comments: I love Josh and Ember so much. Their story is one that I think about often and I am so glad that I took a chance on Rebecca and read this book. All of her couples are amazing, but Josh and Ember are my favorite.

5. Wildest Dream by RC Boldt
27209967
Synopsis: Taken from his parents and bounced from one foster home to the next, former Navy SEAL turned math teacher, Callum “Mac” Mackenzie had a rough childhood. The only time he’s let himself get attached to anyone has been with his military “brothers”. He’s convinced he doesn’t know how to love and certainly doesn’t “do” relationships. He’s spent fourteen years in the Navy and now he gets to live out his other dream: teaching.

Her thirtieth birthday fast approaching, science teacher, Raine Thompson feels as if her time to find “the one” is running out. She knows life is short, especially after dealing with breast cancer two years ago, and wants to experience her own happily ever after. But is it in the cards for her?

Finally acting on the simmering attraction they have long ignored, Raine and Mac decide to have a fling and they discover what it’s like to have someone who knows you inside out also be the one who makes your body come alive.

My comments: Ahhh, Mac and Raine! Another couple that are #goals for sure. These two couldn’t be more perfect for each other and I loved reading their story. <3
