|Take My Breath Away picks up right after Every Breath You Take ends. Once I started reading, I was able to finish the book pretty quickly. I wanted to know how everything was going to turn out with the impending danger that is lurking about and the fallout with the huge mess that Hunter and Memphis had created for themselves. The suspense and build up kept the pages turning and held my attention.
Unfortunately, I just didn’t like this book as much as I did the first one. My head was spinning from all of the betrayal and lies. This is just my own personal preference, but I can’t stand a liar. That is my absolute number one pet peeve aside from cheating. I especially don’t like it when the lie is to protect someone, or because they don’t want to hurt someone, or something along those lines. I just don’t like it. Because of that, I just ended up not enjoying this story very much. Hunter disgusted me in this book with the way he acted with London when he finally returned. Sam… I just don’t know. I can definitely understand why he did what he did in the situation with Hunter, but it just didn’t sit well with me. I didn’t care for Memphis either. Again, that’s just a personal preference.
Bryce took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting that interaction to go the way it did. I’m happy with how things turned out for him. The character I liked most in this book was Henry. He is the very definition of an all-around good, honest man. I was really glad to see that Ella got some happiness of her own
