|I finished this book quickly because I just couldn’t put it down. This is by far THE most disturbing and disgusting book I’ve ever read in my life. I loved this book though. It was a really interesting feeling to be both disgusted and fascinated at the same time. Twisted doesn’t even begin to cover some of the characters in this book.
There were parts of the book that I cringed through, but I chugged along. JD Barker has an amazing ability to create a visual with the reader. I was able to perfectly picture everything that was being described in this book, which made for a very disturbing read. The suspense will grip you and hold onto you until the very last page. There were so many shocking twists and turns throughout this book that my head was practically left spinning when it was all over.
I think the diary chapters proved to be the most shocking, where we get to be inside the head of the 4MK (Four Monkey Killer). They were also the most interesting. Getting to see how the 4MK started out, what his life was like, what he went through as a child, and seeing him through to adulthood was an interesting journey.
My heart was racing as tensions built in the story as I was approaching the ending. It didn’t turn out like I thought it would at all. This book kept me guessing and wondering the entire time. I can’t wait to start reading the next book!
